Job Summary:

Join the Arizona Department of Administration's Human Resources Division as a key player in supporting the personnel needs of over 40 state agencies, boards, and commissions. As a Human Resources Analyst Intermediate, you'll work closely with the HR Manager to provide expertise across vital HR functions like performance management, onboarding, and benefits administration. Your role will be crucial in facilitating smooth interactions between ADOA and the agencies it serves, ensuring efficient and effective HR support across the state government. Job Duties:
  • Maintain HRIS records, provide administrative support, and troubleshoot HRIS issues
  • Train HR Liaisons on HRIS, act as a subject matter expert, and conduct AZ360 operations training
  • Manage unit projects, collect performance metrics, generate reports, author SOPs, and implement LEAN initiatives
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, including new employee orientation, I-9 verifications, and coordination of fingerprinting and badging
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment, change reporting, and answering employee questions
  • Review and approve ASRS requests, process RASL requests, and handle annual leave carryover requests
  • Assist in FMLA administration, including intake of requests, preparation of letters and packets, and eligibility reviews
  • Interpret and apply HR rules, policies, and procedures; prepare communications; attend meetings and trainings; and travel on State business
  • Assist in HR policy/program implementation
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Current principles, practices, and methods used in HR program administration
  • Federal and state employment laws, statutes, rules, and regulations
  • Agency policies, rules, and regulations
  • Principles and practices of modern organizational development
  • Personnel actions, FMLA, employee leave, workers' compensation, and HR service delivery
  • Proper use and application of English and grammar

Selective Preference(s):
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred
  • Two years of experience as a Human Resources Analyst or similar role (e.g., HR Assistant, Specialist, or Generalist) is desired
  • A relevant HR certification is a plus
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Background and reference check, including state and federal criminal records fingerprint check
  • Arizona Driver's License
