Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Accounting Specialist 2 to join the Division of Business and Finance (DBF). In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records by performing a variety of accounting tasks. You will be responsible for processing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and providing critical support for budgeting and financial reporting activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to contribute to the efficient operation of state financial systems and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Job Duties:
  • Review and analyze documentation for accuracy, compliance to statutes, and policies
  • Ensure that documents are properly authorized, coded correctly and pricing is in accordance with purchase orders/contracts
  • Prepare and enter transactions information into various financial systems
  • Review/reconcile accounts and transactions from accounting systems for error, make any necessary revisions
  • Resolve issues/problems, answer questions, research/analyze data for divisions/agencies
  • Prepare deposits in accordance with policies and procedures relating to the handling of cash and reconcile to accounting system
  • Compile various revenue and expenditure reports. Reconciliation of invoice agings, statements and general ledger reports
