Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for work of considerable difficulty assisting in the reporting and analysis of business and fiscal management functions. The Agency receives a portion of its funding from Federal Grants. This position will work closely with Division/ programs in providing the necessary fiscal and business information needed. Position will be responsible for data manipulation, analyzing financial and statistical reports and reporting this information to all levels of management. Position will work closely with program management as well as other offices within the Agency regarding human resources, budget, procurement and accounting.

This position is available for remote work on a full-time basis within Arizona (including virtual office arrangements).

Job Duties:
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly statistical reports on state and federal fund sources. Utilize AZ360, Tableau, and Anaplan for all budget and expenditure tracking. Utilize any other financial tools as appropriate. Monitor funds, revenue and available cash/fund balance to determine program longevity. Assist in forecasting and tracking agency fee fund revenues and program expenditures to determine appropriate fee levels.
  • Confer with section managers and division directors to develop program financial plans and budget preparation. Prepare budget load and transfer documents. Work in conjunction with senior budget analysts to deliver a high level of budgetary and financial support to program staff.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking ability; proven experience being detail oriented and meeting deadlines
  • Experience in Public and/or Environmental setting
  • Moderate to advanced experience in Excel
  • Skills in interpersonal, written and verbal communication; critical thinking; organization; project prioritizing and time management maintaining business records through automated financial and budgetary systems; accounting methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles and concepts; forecasting techniques; resource allocation methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and effectively communicate complex financial data; communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers; successfully initiate and maintain complex relations; work and be productive in one-on-one and group settings; balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks and complete assignments by applicable deadlines; lead a team and take the lead on projects.
Selective Preference(s):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, finance or business administration OR minimum 3 years experience in such fields as personnel, budget analysis, purchasing, accounting, data processing or related administrative services work.
