The Applications Developer will develop new software applications and systems, provide technical support to both internal and external customer base, troubleshoot code, participate in peer reviews, and thoroughly test code. Applications include public facing applications, dealer interfaces, etc., and other applications that work towards a digital and paperless technical environment that moves us towards more automation for the department. In addition to providing support for the Department's critical systems, this position will also be assigned to projects from the project management team.
-Develop new applications from projects business requirements to production. New applications will meet the functional and technical designs.
-Update current systems and applications by fixing and developing changes to correct the issues with strict attention to deadlines and downtime.
-Operates with high efficiency and keen eye for detail.
-Prepare and interpret project documentation.
-Work with the project management team to prepare projects.
-Write all technical documentation for the projects developed.
-Assists with project documentation and maintenance plans.
-System and application maintenance.
-Maintain security as guided from the security team within the applications.
-May train new team members on existing systems or applications.
-Performs other duties as assigned
The candidate will have knowledge of multiple programming languages; database management systems, specifically MSSQL, and development platforms; designing and developing mobile applications; .NET web based systems; AWS products and services; code reviews and writing code. The candidate will be skilled in customer service; interpersonal, virtual, written and oral communication; skills; critical thinking; organization; meeting deadlines; creating project documentation; producing reusable/standardized code; and good attention to details. The candidate will have the ability to balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks; work collaboratively in teams and across organizations; synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly; quickly learn and develop in new programming languages, APIs, and platforms; creative solutions to business problems; effectively evaluate and anticipate development risk or negative impacts.
Experience with Xamarin is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree plus 5 or more years of programming and analysis (or equivalent experience) required.
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked or suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
