The purpose of this position is to act in the capacity of a Bureau Chief within the Division of Human Resources at Arizona State Hospital (ASH). This position will report directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer. The position is responsible for the leadership and management of all HR programs and services through staff providing employee relations, operations, talent acquisition, classification and compensation, as well as the HR leadership at the Arizona State Hospital. This position will provide overall leadership and management to the Arizona State Hospital Human Resources group and will act as the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer. This position will provide consultation and guidance to ASH management personnel and employees with regard to federal and state employment laws; Personnel Rules, statewide and agency HR policies and procedures, and other HR-related functions.
This position is expected to be on-site at the Arizona State Hospital 4-5 days a week.

-Serves as the ASH Bureau Chief for the Division of Human Resources. Collaborates with the CHRO on agency ASH HR matters and services as part of the HR Leadership team working toward strategic improvements.
-Provides overall leadership and management for the overall day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Division. Provides on HR matters such as state employment laws, personnel rules, and HR policies and procedures to agency management and personnel.
-Other duties as assigned as related to the position (typically 5% - 10%)

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Administration or Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources. Five years of progressively responsible Human Resources managerial experience. Preference is given to applicants with Public Health experience. Human Resources-related certifications are a plus.
Must possess a valid level one fingerprint clearance card issues pursuant to A.R.S. §36-113.
