The Insurance Supervisor works closely with the Assistant Manager and Manager to oversee the daily operations of the insurance team. The Supervisor actively works to create and maintain a positive team culture focused on continuous improvement and employee engagement.
The Insurance Supervisor is responsible for the implementation of short-term and long-term strategies to ensure that the Commission meets its statutory obligations in these areas as set forth in A.R.S.§ 23-901 et seq (Arizona Workers' Compensation Act) and all other applicable laws and rules. The Insurance Supervisor supervises direct reports in compliance with all rules, regulations, procedures, state personnel statutes and regulations, and performs other duties and responsibilities described herein. This position also serves as a subject matter expert on workers compensation coverage and application of coverage within various computer system resources (will train).
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Guiding the day-to-day operations of the Insurance team’s daily operations, including but not limited to creating and maintaining dashboards, reports, queue management, task assignments, and oversight of staff.
● Ensures work is performed accurately and timely in compliance with Arizona workers' compensation laws while ensuring compliance with all rules, regulations, procedures, state personnel statutes and regulations.
● Improves and/or creates Standard Work guidelines.
● Generate, review, and analyze various claims reports to identify performance measures and claims trends.
● Leading projects from ideation through to completion focused on improving specialist comprehension.
● Conduct audits to proactively identify internal opportunities for improvement.
● Mentors and trains staff.
● Researches and answers questions posed by the team and is responsible for researching and resolving or escalating any customer service issues encountered.
● Confers with management, presents, and resolves difficult problems or questions, discusses plans and actions to be taken, makes decisions.
● Assists team by completing insurance team-based tasks.
● Conduct audits to proactively identify internal opportunities for improvement.
● Reviewed audit data to develop internal programs to increase quality and adherence to standard work, existing Arizona WC laws, rules and statutes.
● Participate in Arizona Management System (AMS) and daily huddleboard.
Knowledge in
● Entry level knowledge of applicable workers compensation claims management laws, statutes, case laws.
● Knowledge of Google sheets, docs, forms, mail and Microsoft word & excel.
● Knowledge of Basic English and mathematics.
● Knowledge of using Internet based searching to conduct research.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
A high school diploma or GED; 5+ years of customer services experience and/or workers' compensation; experience/knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance.
