The mission of the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners is to establish and maintain standards of qualifications and performance for licensed behavioral health professionals in the fields of counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work and substance abuse counseling and to regulate the practice of licensed behavioral health professionals for protection of the public.

Annual Salary Range: $105,000 - $120,000

Job Summary:

The Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners is seeking a motivated individual to join our team in the role of Deputy Director.

The Deputy Director will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Board as assigned by the Executive Director.

Job Duties:

• Oversees policy Implementation of Board processes and procedures to include updating policies with changes

• Ensure daily operations of the Board as established by statutes, rules and policies

• Ensure compliance with all State laws, policies, regulations, and guidelines

• Acts as a proxy when Executive Director is unavailable to attend

• Supervision and support of the Operation's team and functions

• Oversees and provides support to staff

• Assists with tracking legislation

• Oversees rule-making process

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of general business principles in the areas and management, finance and best practice

• Knowledge of the how the legislative system works

• Knowledge of the open meeting law

• Knowledge of Statutes and Rules

• Knowledge of behavioral health

Selective Preference(s):

• Bachelor’s degree required

• Master’s degree preferred

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.)

• Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment
