The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) Information Technology Unit (IT) is seeking a talented and engaged intern who is working towards a degree in information technology and wants to develop beyond the classroom learning.
The Vendor/Contracts Management department will provide the Business Analyst intern with opportunities to learn:
- Practical, hand-on experience in project related tasks in conjunction with vendor management methodologies, standards and processes
- Interact with staff and stakeholders to learn about project execution, implementation and post deployment management of platforms and programs
- Utilize tools and formulate an understanding of the management of projects post release
- Assist experienced staff members with the follow up of tickets, learning to troubleshoot issues and problems with respect to programs
- Create timelines, scheduling resources, managing risks, while also gaining hands-on experience working with stakeholders and sponsors
- Participation in a collaborative learning environment and gain insight from experienced project professionals
- Have the opportunity to work with other departmental cross functional team members and vendors to gain an understanding of this approach to vendor management
- An understanding of the ADCRR mission to enhance public safety
- Understanding of PMBOK methodologies and processes
- Ability to follow established standards, policies and procedures
- Learn information systems and upgrades
- Works with project professionals to learn about all facets of vendor management
- Project processes and creating diagrams/flow charts
- Learns to communicate and work with product owners, customers and stakeholders
- Is organized
- Attention to detail
- Takes initiative to learn and ask question as they are assigned tasks
