Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) Information Technology Unit (IT) is seeking a talented and engaged intern who is working towards a degree in information technology and wants to develop beyond the classroom learning.

Job Duties:

Interns will:
- Learn about ADCRR and its functions, Vision and Mission, and Goals for 2025
- Aid in the development and maintenance of applications using C# and .NET technologies, including writing clean, efficient, and well documented code
- Aid and learn about the creation and maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards, including data integration, modeling, and visualization based on user requirements
- Participate in unit testing, debugging and troubleshooting to ensure the quality and functionality of applications across different environments
- Work alongside senior developer and other team members in an agile environment
- Help create technical documentation for code, features, and processes to ensure clear communication within the development team and other stakeholders
- Learn how to use various tools such as GitHub and Visual Studio Code in software development cycle
- Attend weekly meetings with experienced associates to understand how to address dependencies that may exist during software application development lifecycle

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

- Proficient in application Development using Python, Dot Net, C#, HTML, CSS technologies
- Knowledge on Low Code No Code development platforms such as Microsoft Power Apps or Quickbase is preferred
- Solid understanding of software design and programming principles
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot issues, identify root cause and possible solutions
- Time management, organization, planning and problem solving skills
- Ability to work with experienced professional, show interest in developing new skills (technical and soft skills)

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Candidate must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program.

Senior undergraduate majoring in Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) or related field.

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.
