The Arizona Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for a highly motivated, detailed oriented, self-driven individual to join our Information Services team as IT Generalists. This position will report directly to the IT Manager and the job location is Nogales Arizona. This position will provide second level physical and virtual troubleshooting, resolution, and management of all hardware and software technology inquiries and issues affecting the various business units within the Department.
Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Troubleshooting field support production problems and recommending/executing solutions
• Working closely with tier one support to assist with resolving help desk tickets for general administrative, software, and network support
• Providing computer operations support such as performing PC and software installations on individual workstations.
• Deploying new machines as part of the on-boarding process and wipe machines for off-boarding staff for redeployment internally or to surplus
• Monitoring/maintaining/updating the Agency websites
• Writing and maintaining technical and user manuals
• Assisting with IT projects, upgrades, and asset management
• Answers phone and monitors internal customer intake and tracking systems, and responds promptly to requests for service and assistance
• Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Knowledge of multimedia, PC setup, and operations and connection(s) to network, end user computer software, system analysis and design techniques. Also possesses knowledge of testing methodologies, network setup and administration, database design, website creation and administration, and computer and software terminology. Knowledge of hardware life cycle management and best practices. Knowledge of products such as Microsoft, Google, Drupal, Tanium, and network/server monitoring tools. General knowledge of current and emerging software and hardware technologies. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications, establishing personal and professional networks, and evaluating the latest industry best practices.
SKILLS IN:
Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills. Quality customer service skills, and organization and time management techniques. Reading and interpreting detailed technical information. Communicating detailed technical information to non-technical personnel or users. Attention to detail and independent problem solving.
ABILITY TO:
Ability to balance, prioritize and organize multiple task; and work collaboratively in teams and across the agency. The ability to synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly, and build strong relationships inside and outside the agency. Ability to resolve incidents problems efficiently and effectively, recognizing customers’ competence levels, and able to approach each level appropriately.
Computer Science degree with programming emphasis (or equivalent experience)
ITIL training
A+ or other equitable training
Valid Driver's License

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Mandatory condition of Employment for all employees who meet the eligibility and membership criteria defined in statue. Current contribution rate is 12.27%. Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
