Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) is seeking a talented and creative Multimedia Specialist to join the Office of Statewide Communications and Public Affairs. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping and sharing the ADOA’s story by creating engaging multimedia content. You will manage the full lifecycle of multimedia projects, including video production, graphic design, and written content—from initial idea development to final publishing and promotion. This position is an exciting opportunity for a creative professional to make a meaningful impact through storytelling and media.

Job Duties:
  • Assists team in coming up with ideas for multimedia storytelling about ADOA, creating and publishing content for social media and web content as well as email distribution
  • Serves as the primary graphic designer for the team, including conducting photo research and producing social media graphics, thumbnails, infographics, reports, graphics for video and more
  • In close coordination with ADOA's video production specialist, executes video shoots on-site and on-location including audio, camera operation and talent direction. Additionally, handles assignments requiring special lighting, multiple locations, creativity, special audio needs, custom motion graphics. Scouts shoot locations, assesses possible obstacles in filming and provide solutions or alternatives
  • Writes scripts for interviews and storyboarding. Generates ideas for video projects for the Communications team. Conducts interviews with staff and stakeholders and ensures that valuable sound bites are captured
  • Plans and performs video post-production tasks, including reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, logging, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction, adding photographs and B-roll, motion graphics, animation, audio and music, and final editing. Makes video products available in a variety of formats; observes brand standards and ensures consistency and relevance to production. Oversees the production of closed captions for videos
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Basic principles of videography, photography, graphic design and composition techniques
  • Journalism and storytelling principles
  • Proficient in the Adobe suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere
  • Basic knowledge of website content production and social media platforms
  • State government and department organizational structure

Skills in:

  • Establishing and maintaining effective work relationships
  • Oral and written communication abilities
  • Organization, time management, coordination, and research skills
  • Video and graphic design production
  • Interviewing and editing
  • Proofreading, and using proper spelling and grammar
  • Utilize various software, including Google Suite
  • Operating and maintaining video and related equipment

  • Write effectively
  • Work within a dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks at a given time
  • Communicate and interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds
  • Prioritize, plan, analyze and coordinate activities
  • Manage all phases of multimedia content production
Selective Preference(s):
  • 3+ years multimedia experience
  • Strong visual storytelling skills
