• This position is responsible for procuring commodities and services requested by ADE programs statewide within delegated procurement authority and according to policies and procedures.
• The responsibilities include preparing and issuing informal solicitations for commodities and general services, documenting the receipt of goods and services, entering requisitions and processing purchase orders with the State's e-procurement system.
• Rare in-state travel may be required for this position.
The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.
• Receive, review for accuracy, input, process, and track purchasing requests for assigned commodities and services, analyzing requests against available contracted items
• Research for applicable Statewide contracts
• Confirm accuracy of National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP), cost allocation and other necessary accounting codes for which purchases will be charged against
• Issue purchase orders for assigned commodities and services
• Conduct small dollar purchases up to delegated procurement authority in accordance with Procurement Code and appropriate policies and procedures
• Maintain and compile accurate records within designated database(s).
• Create new reports and update and generate reports as requested by Chief Procurement Officer, Procurement Services Supervisor, and/or department management
• Perform vendor outreach and provides technical assistance to both internal and external customers
• Conduct procurements to include preparation, evaluation, and of informal solicitations
• Upon contract award, conduct contract administration duties to include amendments, extensions, and/ or assignments

Preference will be given to those applicants with:
• Administrative experience in purchasing, accounting, budget, personnel, or a related field
• Professional certification such as a Certified Public Purchasing Buyer (CPPB) from a professional purchasing organization
