This position will serve as an HR Generalist supporting divisions within ADOT by coordinating recruitment and operation efforts. The position will partner with hiring managers, HR Business Partners, HR Liaisons, and field HR administrative service officers to support recruitment, on-boarding, job changes, and other employee changes. This position will also support various operational tasks including, but not limited to, ADOTs Commercial Drug and Alcohol (CDL) program, employment verification, position maintenance, and other human resources inquiries and processes.
This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (2 days per week in the office/hoteling).

Collaborate with ADOT hiring managers and HR support staff to determine recruitment needs. Facilitate the recruitment process flow within established personnel rule and department policies/processes. Some activities for this process include development of job posting, KSAs, resume review, conducting phone screens, supporting the interview process, and working in the HR recruitment system.
Facilitate HR operational functions (HRIS entry, on boarding, 1-9, CDL verification, employee inquiries, etc.) and other HR actions as business dictates.
Responsible for providing customer service and general HR support and guidance for Recruitment, Operations, CDL Verification/Coordination, and Classification & Compensation. This includes a variety of activities such position maintenance, employment verifications, personnel file reviews, and various HR inquiries via email, fax, and phone.
Learn, practice, and model continuous improvement behaviors in line with ADOT culture and approach. Utilize tools demonstrating this understanding and approach in daily activities (i.e. problem solving, standard work, coaching, etc).
Provide HR training and representation based on business need {recruitment, operations, continuous improvement, class and comp, mock interviews, job fairs etc).

The operation of computer software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace programs, Adobe, Docusign, etc.)
Ability to:

• Perform research, collect and analyze data and report information
• Negotiate and apply reason, knowledge, and process to persuasively resolve employee concerns
• Comprehend and make inference from written material
• Model principles of continuous improvement to streamline and produce quality work & processes and service for all customers
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or closely related field, two years experience in Human Resources or equivalent, HR Certifications.
This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
