SENIOR GRANTS & COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR

This is a grant-funded position and will remain open until filled

Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Finance Administrator, this position will serve as a point of contact responsible for financial oversight for all areas within the Office of Economic Opportunity.

This position will work closely with the Finance Administrator to ensure that they are aware of all financial activity and to provide accurate and timely information on a regular and ad hoc basis. The position will require a highly organized individual who will be able to manage and maintain oversight over competing financial priorities. This position will be responsible for managing and coordinating complex grant-funded projects, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and supporting organizational objectives. This role includes administrative, financial, and project coordination duties, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and maintaining strong compunction with internal and external stakeholders.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

• Ensure compliance with the Arizona State Accounting Manual, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and all applicable State and Federal Regulations

• Manage revenue tracking and ensure funding availability before authorizing expenditures or approvals as designated by the Finance Administrator

• Collaborate with the Finance Administrator to prepare for audits and respond to internal and external requests for documentation and verification

• Creating and updating budget performance reports regularly, reviewing expenditures, and ensuring all transactions align with grant requirements

• Ensure that grant expenditures align with approved budgets, prepare monthly invoices, and maintain accurate records for project milestones

• Make sure that they read through any contracts or awards to understand the allowable or unallowable items for the funds

• Support compliance efforts by reviewing budget revisions and aligning financial activities with grant regulations

• Monitors revenue/billing, expenditures, and anticipated obligations for each funding the position is overseeing

• Initiate budget and fiscal adjustments as needed, ensuring adherence to policies related to fiscal activities

• Oversee the collection, review, and documentation of financial information from partner organizations

• Conduct periodic audits to ensure ongoing compliance and identify any areas for corrective action

• Manage and oversee reconciliations of accounts, general ledgers, and ad-hoc analysis

• Maintain oversight of compliance with federal, state, and local funding guidelines

• Monitor a range of grant-funded budgets

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field and experience in developing and monitoring budgets, revenue and expenditure forecasts, governmental accounting, and extensive experience using spreadsheet and database systems

Pre-Employment Requirements:
