Job Summary:

Join the Arizona Department of Administration's General Services Division as a General Maintenance Specialist. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for responding to a diverse range of maintenance issues across multiple structures, covering over 2 million square feet of state-managed space in the Phoenix area. Your expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting, maintaining, inspecting, modifying, and repairing various building systems. From plumbing and electrical systems to overhead doors, gates, fire alarms, fire sprinklers, and automatic doors, your skills will ensure the smooth operation and safety of our state complexes. Join our team and play an essential role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of Arizona's state facilities.

Job Duties:
  • Troubleshoots, maintains, inspects, modifies and repairs building systems
  • Conducts periodic general preventative maintenance on the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, which involves normal lubrication, adjustment, cleaning, replacement of consumable parts (such as filters, indicator lights), and periodic testing of the equipment
  • Utilizes computerized maintenance management system in real-time for new requests, parts orders, updates, and completion data
  • Interacts with customers from beginning to completion of each work order
  • Interacts with contractors to schedule, assist, and ensure on-time completion of contracted projects
