Ensures Sexually Violent persons maintain compliance with court-imposed rules through the use of electronic and physical surveillance measures; assist residents in the Less Restrictive Alternative Program to reintegrate into the community by maintaining frequent contact with the resident's employer, family members, instructors and others and may physically arrest and detain residents who violate their conditions of supervision. Coordinate, plans, and organizes GPS electronic monitoring for Forensic Hospital patients; Attend and provide input at combined meetings with Forensic disciplines. Act as part of a multi-discipline team to review, compose and implement updated protocols, policies and procedures. We are looking to hire for Second Shift (11:30am- 10:00pm).
- Conducts electronic monitoring and physical surveillance of sexually violent persons assigned to the Less Restrictive Alternative Program and assigned Forensic Hospital Patients; inputs information on new residents, create and distribute escape flyer's; inputs scheduling data, reviews daily alarm reports, replaces malfunctioning equipment and performs numerous related technical activities.
- Conducts comprehensive investigations of incidents involving violations of conditions and/or new criminal activity by residents ; performs searches, maintains chain of custody of evidence, interview witnesses, compile reports, testify in courts, coordinates activities and information with law enforcement and prosecutor agencies.
- Completes assessments of employment, residence, school and other locations to determine suitability for sex offender placement and potential impact to public safety; submits written and oral reports for use by critical and operations staff.
- Ensures all sex offenders within the center maintain current registration status with the County Sheriffs Office, Department of Transportation, Licensing Bureau, and the Phoenix Police Department by sharing identification information and coordinating document exchange.
- Completes disclosure notification to employers, schools and landlords prior to resident going to these places on a regular or permanent basis.
- Monitors extradition and detainer activities with other states and the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement; tracks residents who are in jail or are in the custody of other agencies including pending court dates.
- Verify up-to-date escape bulletins on all residents including digital image database and periodically update as necessary to reflect changes.
- Transmits resident behavioral information, compliance to the Supervision conditions and any unlawful or minor violations of conditions to parole officers with the Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation and Reentry and County Probation Officers statewide, and law enforcement officials as necessary and required.
- Other duties as assigned as related to the position (typically 5% - 10%)
Knowledge of:
- The Arizona Revised Statutes governing criminal offenses, sentencing, parole,
probation and the civil commitment of sexually violent persons.
- State and federal statutes related to sex offender registration and community
notification.
-Principals, methods and techniques of interviewing, evaluation, surveillance,
offender caseload management and tort liability.
- Working knowledge of psychological terms.
-Performance Management (PM), and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Lean methodologies.
Skill in:
- Evaluating of criminal history records information.
- The basic techniques of writing concise and comprehensive reports.
- The basic techniques of reading comprehension, interpretation and
application of all applicable laws, rules, regulations, regulations of Arizona governing
criminal offenses and the civil commitment of sexually violent persons.
- Computer automation skills. Skill in demonstrating proper methods and techniques in investigating, searches, surveillance, and interviews;
- Managing caseloads; demonstrating appropriate offender contact;
- Oral and written communication
-Interpersonal relationships.
Ability to:
- Ability to accurately conduct comprehensive investigations of incidents involving violations
of conditions and/or new criminal activity by residents.
- Perform searches, maintain chain of custody of evidence, interview witnesses,
and compile reports.

The preferred candidate will have previous work knowledge as a parole officer, probation officer, law enforcement officer or casework services, surveillance, and/or supervision of convicted offenders.
- A state hospital employee must posses a valid level one fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to A.R.S. 41-1758.07 or must apply for a level one fingerprint clearance card within seven working days after beginning employment.
- Must have and maintain current valid Arizona Drivers License.
