JOB SUMMARY:

The Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Technical Support Administrator. Located in Phoenix, AZ, PSPRS manages three retirement plans and serves active and retired public safety and correctional facility personnel, judges and elected officials.

Reporting to the Technical Support Supervisor, this position is responsible for the maintenance and support of the PSPRS end user computing environment, MFPs, network, and server infrastructure. Processes, documents, and coordinates resolution of trouble calls leveraging the Agency’s incident management system. Categorizes, isolates, and resolves hardware and software problem issues. Performs onboarding and offboarding of users. Implements software patches, security fixes, and tests and validates modified IT system configurations. Ensures compliance with standards for IT systems software and documentation. Produces technical and end user documentation and training materials.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

The Technical Support Administrator is responsible to:

  • Respond to, resolve, and triage IT help desk requests.
  • Provide guidance, support, and education to staff for both hardware and software including but not limited to Microsoft Office software, computer systems, VOIP systems and peripheral devices.
  • Support a variety of in-house and third-party applications.
  • Administer a wide range of disciplines including but not limited to Windows Desktop and Server, IT systems imaging and configuration management, endpoint protection, backups, and Document Imaging.
  • Perform IT system monitoring and analysis of workstation, server, and network systems.
  • Upgrade IT systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution.
  • Propose changes to IT systems following compliance to established standards, guidelines, policies and procedures and assists with implementing and testing new technologies.
  • Perform periodical systems maintenance and inventory tasks.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Working knowledge of various technologies including current Microsoft Windows Operating Systems for both Desktop and Server, Active Directory or AzureAD, Microsoft Office Software, IT systems imaging and configuration management, and general IT security concepts.
  • Scripting and automation.
  • VoIP and M365 experience a plus.

SKILLS:

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.

Selective Preference(s): Ideal Candidates will have a minimum of:
  • 3 years of experience in customer support, 1 year IT system hardware and software support and network troubleshooting.
  • Technical associate degree and/or certifications preferred.

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Please not that enrollment eligibility become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
