Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Correction, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a skilled Instructional Designer to join our team. This role involves researching, designing, and developing training curricula for employee learning initiatives, including in-service training, state-wide academies, and organizational development programs. The ideal candidate will have expertise in all phases of instructional design, from conducting formal needs assessments to creating engaging, effective learning experiences. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with various teams to ensure training programs meet the department's goals and support staff development. Job Duties:

- Responsible, as part of a team, for the research, development, and maintenance of Department training and academy curricula
- Writes, edits, and revises lesson plans to meet quality standards and Department requirements
- Conducts pilots of approved courses and provides knowledge transfer and curriculum support to Training Officer
- Facilitates and/or participates in curriculum development team meetings and focus groups
- Assists with first-line Information Technology (IT) support and troubleshooting for online training
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

- Curriculum development methods and instructional design best practices
- Adult learning theory and education philosophy

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
